Ability to insert inline math equations with LaTex syntax

Hello!
It would be great to have an ability to insert inline mathematical equations by using KaTeX engine (or similar), the same way it works now with diagrams.

P.S for now I use ascii equations like that:

I was able to do that the similar way generators work, but there is a new height I think would be great to achieve: inline math symbols, right in the text. It is possible, but need to expand syntax to detect such things differently from existing inlines.

I thought about something like this:

In this equation $`x_{init}`$ used as initial vector.

The $x_{init}$ is replaced by the png inline image (it is done by Github here), with size define by some global argument to ruff.
