How does btop render?

I plan on making a CLI tool with good UI. I found that btop was the kind of UI I was looking for but no matter what I do, I cannot understand the how.

I have tried going over the source code but it is no good for me.

So I am asking the experienced seniors to help me out here.

Particularly, how does it render without line height? and how is the border connected seamlessly.

I want to replicate the rendering of "." in C or Cpp

Those are not multiple . stacked on top of each other but rather Unicode symbols, specifically the braille symbols.

This for example will render a little progress indicator.

Ohh I get it now. I presume that the same applied for the border right!
