Description
This initiative will serve as an initial pilot to explore how AI red teaming can be delivered as a government-ready service. While Microsoft's red-teaming offerings exist, this effort focuses on understanding what additional customization, guardrails, and governance are required to make red teaming suitable for BC Government use.
The pilot will test how red teaming can be applied to AI systems in a way that aligns with government policies, privacy expectations, and risk tolerance. It will build on existing red-teaming practices while layering in BC-specific requirements such as responsible AI use, data protection, auditability, and clear accountability.
The outcome of this work will help define:
What “red teaming as a service” should look like for government
Where customization is needed beyond commercial offerings
How teams can safely and consistently test AI systems before wider deployment
This pilot is intended to inform a future, scalable red-teaming service that BC Government teams can rely on as part of their AI delivery and assurance processes.
