I can't import one specific song.

I am unable to import "Freie Deutsche Jugend (ft. Kasane Teto)" with the MusicBrainz ID 42f64a40-4167-491e-8111-0a811c6c2ab8. I can import it as a track/recording, but not as an album.
I have a suspicion and want to know if I am right: Is it because the release type is set to "Other"?
I never had this problem before, and all YT releases I import are usually tagged as "Single".
If I am right, is there a specific reason that "Other" is handled differently in this way from the other release types.

This does not appear to be caused by an Other release type. I checked the MusicBrainz release ID in the post, and its release group is currently classified as Single. The release contains one medium with one track, so it is a valid album-mode candidate for a one-file import.

In other words, the MusicBrainz data seems to have been corrected since this question was posted. Updating beets/MusicBrainz data and entering the bare release UUID should now work:

If an older beets installation still says that no release was found, run the import with -vv and check whether the MusicBrainz request itself fails. But there is no special rule in the importer that excludes release groups whose primary type is Other; release type mainly contributes metadata and matching distance rather than deciding whether a release can be loaded by ID.

Sorry, I did not know this issue was still open. (I thought I never opened it)

I know what this was caused by now: The release is marked as a video release, and beet excludes video releases by default, one has to enable it in the config. It's quite confusing that beets will straight up tell you that there are no releases, but now that I know that, it makes sense.
