Tabs or even folders and subfolders would be best.
As is common with Android launchers with folders, you can organize your apps and links by topic. Since I have 17 columns by 13 rows of links on the desktop, and these aren't enough for me, especially since I'm full, I can't even group and organize them into sections by topic. Throwing all the links into folders with subfolders and then opening them in Explorer is very impractical. I use the Nova Launcher on Android, and it's great for organizing. I have multiple launcher pages (desktops as tabs), each with many folders, so I can get to what I want very quickly. And if desired, I can always return to the tab/page or home screen after closing the folder.
Having the launcher as a desktop replacement always open on the entire screen with the tab list would be a great idea.

Since screens are getting wider and wider, and there's a lack of height for browsing and working, I find the idea of ​​positioning the taskbar and other functions below or perhaps above rather impractical. Browsers now have vertical tab overviews to counteract this, but hiding the taskbar is also impractical, with no clock, etc.
That's why it would also be practical for the launcher to place the menu, tabs, possibly the clock, and other functions on the side, preferably on the left or selectable.
If the clock and tray icons were also integrated, the taskbar could be automatically hidden or minimized.
