Newbie questions about updating

Hi,

I just bought an used Voxelab Aquila and I don't want toast it with unsuccessful update.

I have a H32 sticker attached to the printer, so I'm assuming that HC32 is the correct version for my device, right?

And can I update the display using DWIN even my display is in landscape? All the example pictures here are in portrait.

Yes the H32 is the HC32

The screen orientation for this FW is vertical so you will need to print a new mount for the screen to have it the right way up. Something like this

There is no danger of bricking the printer by installing the wrong version. You can always reflash the correct one or go back to stock FW as updating the firmware does not alter the boot loader.

it is technically possible to have this firmware rotated 90°, however, there would be considerable work involved... but one day this would be a wonderful thing to have as an option - being able to have it either orientation. but for now the firmware can only be used in the Vertical position as you see pictured.

Note

on a side note.. I have been able to setup my LCD screen using the original mount, without printing anything special. The only way to make this work is move it from the right to left side. let me get a picture for you

As you can see, I believe those are long M5 bolts, spares I had

oh by the way, this will make your display lower, so unless you raise the printer up higher, or print a spacer / get block of wood (and longer bolts) or have it at the edge of a table it will fit.
