"company" vs. "corporation"

Why does the license use the term "company" over the term "corporation"? What effects, if any does this term have on the enforceability of the licenses?

I'd guess it's because technically all corporations are considered companies, even though not every company is considered a corporation. Using the word company is a catch-all while corporation excludes a lot.
