Where do you store your tools in a Rails app?

I was guessing app/tools or maybe lib/tools??? Did I miss in the docs where it made this clear?

I am playing around with ./app/tools and tests in ./tests/tools.... I tried out the chat generator, and one thing that would be nice is if it demoed a sample tool, that would establish a pattern of where tools should go.
