But we would still want some form of synchronization between the timeline and the map, and some sort of marker on the other one when an event is clicked. For example, clicking on a marker on the map should also move the timeline to the same event on the timeline, with a marker indicating the event on the timeline, and vice versa. Having the duplicate bubbles achieves this, but we could just have some form of marker on the other one, if having duplicate bubbles is viewed as problematic or not desireable.
