Copyright Assignment Agreement (CAA)

This agreement transfers copyright ownership of contributions to the RH Proof project to Dan Alec Yamaguchi, enabling dual-licensing (AGPLv3 + commercial).

1. Assignment of Copyright

I, the Assignor, hereby assign to Dan Alec Yamaguchi all copyright ownership in my contributions to the RH Proof project, including:

(a) All source code files (.c, .h) that I have authored or modified (b) Documentation and comments within source files (c) Any derivative works based on project code

This assignment includes the right to:

  • License the work under AGPLv3
  • License the work under commercial terms
  • Modify, publish, and distribute the work
  • Enforce copyright against infringement

2. Patent Grant

I grant to Dan Alec Yamaguchi a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive patent license to make, use, sell, offer for sale, import, and otherwise transfer any contributions covered by patents I own or control.

3. Moral Rights Exception

Where applicable by law, I retain moral rights to be identified as the author of my contributions. Dan Alec Yamaguchi may choose to credit me or not, at his discretion.

4. Exceptions

This assignment does NOT cover:

  • Code I contributed before signing this agreement
  • Code licensed under different terms (e.g., third-party libraries)
  • Code I contribute to other projects

5. No Obligation

Dan Alec Yamaguchi is not obligated to:

  • Use or incorporate my contributions
  • Maintain my contributions in future versions
  • Credit me for contributions (except where legally required)

6. Representations

I represent that:

  • I am the sole author of my contributions
  • My contributions do not infringe any third-party rights
  • I have the legal right to assign this copyright
  • I am not under any obligation that conflicts with this agreement

  4. Wait for acceptance signature before contributing

Without a signed CAA, contributions cannot be merged into the project.
