Thanks for the suggestion! Just to clarify the current behavior when "Enter to send" is enabled:

• Enter sends the message
• Shift+Enter inserts a newline
• Ctrl/Cmd+Enter also sends (redundant with Enter)

Shift+Enter already covers the newline case and is the standard shortcut across virtually all chat apps (Slack, Discord, ChatGPT, Teams, etc.).

Making Ctrl+Enter insert a newline instead of redundantly sending is a reasonable idea, but it's a pretty niche change given Shift+Enter is already available. Closing this for now, but if there's broader demand we can revisit.

Thank you for your enthusiastic response. There's two main reasons that why I suggest it.

1. Although Shift+Enter can add a newline in most platforms, most Chinese instant messaging apps (like WeChat, QQ, DingTalk, etc.) also support the Ctrl/Cmd+Enter to inserts a newline, there are a considerable number of users here who have such usage habits. Also, LobeChat uses Ctrl/Cmd+Enter to insert a new line. I just switched from that platform and haven’t changed my habits yet, mainly because it’s very slow and has an unbearable number of bugs. So I believe there will be more users like me who will switch over from it.
2. The settings provide the option to use Ctrl/CMD+Enter instead of Enter for sending the message, so there exist a intuition that it switch the function of send and insert newline between them. In order to have a better user experience, making Ctrl+Enter insert a newline is necessary.

So the suggested behavior are as flowed:

1. Under the setting "Enter to send" is enabled:

• Enter sends the message
• Ctrl/Cmd+Enter inserts a newline
• Shift+Enter also inserts a newline

2. Under the setting "Enter to send" is disabled:

• Ctrl/Cmd+Enter sends the message
• Enter inserts a newline
• Shift+Enter also inserts a newline
