Hi David,
I have noticed that the documentation/explanation/tutorial for LAND SURFACE PHENOLOGY PARAMETERS - POLAR-BASED submodule in the TSA module is either missing in the readthedocs, or is not showing up in the search results.
I went through the documentation section by section and identified very little mention of the submodule, namely the tag names and the announcement of the new suite of pheno-metricks in the change log with a pointer to the paper by Bjorn-Gustaf J. Brooks.
Since not only the name tags used in FORCE differ from these used in the original paper, but also FORCE offers a wider selection of metrics than described in the paper, it would be great to understand how each of the FORCE-specific pheno-metrics was derived. This would facilitate selection of the most fitting metrics without the need for producing multiple outputs and 'reverse engineering' them to understand their exact meaning.
For example, the difference or relation among the Date of Start of Season, Date of Start of Phenological Year, and Beginning of growing season (GSbegin) described in the original paper by Bjorn-Gustaf J. Brooks is imho unclear.
Thank you for your help!
Kasia
