Description
Description:
I've been using the superchis flash card and found several UI/UX issues that affect the user experience, especially for daily gameplay. Below are detailed problems and corresponding suggestions for optimization:
1.Overly Complex Quick Menu (Inconvenient Game Switching)
Issue: The current quick menu is overly cumbersome, making game switching operations inefficient.
Suggestion: Simplify the quick menu by mapping four core options to the D-Pad Up/Down/Left/Right respectively. This allows one-step selection for frequently used functions like quit to menu, improving operational efficiency.
2.Unclear Distinction Between Quick Save/Instant Save and Save Slots
Issue:
The difference between "Quick Save" and "Instant Save" is not clearly distinguishable in the UI.
There is no visual indicator to differentiate between used save slots and empty save slots, leading to confusion during operation.
Suggestion: Add clear labels or icons for Quick Save/Instant Save, and implement visual cues (e.g., highlighted/grayed-out slots, checkmarks) to distinguish used/empty save slots.
3.Lack of Long-Press Function for Fast Scrolling
Issue: Currently, button inputs only support single clicks. Long-pressing buttons does not trigger fast scrolling, which is inconvenient when browsing a large list of games or files.
Suggestion: Implement long-press functionality for navigation buttons (e.g., D-Pad Up/Down) to enable fast scrolling through lists.
4.Save Settings Issues in Global/Default Settings
Issue:
The "Save Settings" option in both Global Settings and Default Settings is positioned too low in the menu, making it easy to miss.
There is no save prompt when switching pages after modifying settings, often leading to unsaved changes being forgotten.
Suggestion:
Move the "Save Settings" option to a more prominent position (e.g., top/bottom of the settings menu).
Add a pop-up confirmation dialog asking "Save changes before exiting?" when switching pages with unsaved modifications, or implement auto-save for changed settings.
5.No Prompt for NOR Flash Burning & Unintuitive Operation
Issue: Burning files to NOR requires pressing the Select button, but there is no on-screen prompt indicating this requirement. New users may not be aware of this operation.
Suggestion: Add the "Burn to NOR" option to the A-button menu (main action menu) for better discoverability.
6.Too Many Settings Options (Confusing for Casual Gamers)
Issue: The current settings menu contains a large number of options. For casual gamers (pure game players), many advanced options are difficult to understand and rarely used, leading to unnecessary complexity.
Suggestion:
Implement a "Simple Mode" / "Advanced Mode" toggle for settings. In Simple Mode, only display commonly used options .
Hide advanced options by default and place them in Advanced Mode, with detailed tooltips or comments added to each advanced option to explain its function and usage scenario.
- Poor Text Readability of Certain Theme Color Schemes (Nearly Illegible on Reflective-Screen GBA)
Issue: The menu text of certain themes suffers from low visibility and is nearly unreadable on reflective-screen GBA devices. The insufficient contrast between the text color and background color of these themes fails to accommodate the display traits of reflective screens.
Suggestion: Optimize the color schemes of problematic themes by increasing the contrast ratio between text and background. Implement a custom color adjustment option for menu text and background.
Thank you for all your efforts and contributions. We wish superfw continued growth and improvement.
