Not importing tasks from caldav

I have an existing calendar with tasks on it. The calendar is on Radicale.

I can push and update tasks from org-caldav, but existing tasks on the calendar are not being pulled down.

That's strange, radicale should work fine. For example, I just run the unit tests in org-caldav-tests.el using Docker radicale. You could try running the unit tests with your radicale server to check it.

But first, I suggest try adding a new event to your radicale calendar, eg with Thunderbird or Evolution, and see if it gets pulled down. If so, I suspect that perhaps the existing events were already pulled down before, or org-caldav thinks they were anyways, so is not pulling them down again.

If so, you can try deleting everything on emacs/org side -- namely, the Org files and the database file -- and then restart emacs, and sync the calendar from scratch. The database file will be named like ~/.emacs.d/org-caldav-XXXXX.el, see also org-caldav-sync-state-filename. (Also I recommend making sure org-caldav-delete-calendar-entries is set to ask or never while doing this to prevent accidentally deleting the calendar side while trying to start afresh).
