Version mismatch issue

So I published an npm package which makes a graph. My package is basically a react-app which uses react-sigma for graph visualisation. However whenever I try to install the package in a project in a project which uses a lower version of react as compared to the package I have made, the graph does not render. Any particular reason for that?
