Lots of record with assets sometimes causes salsify errors

Description

Having lots of records with one or more image mappings will sometimes cause an error when resetting the asset feed.

Possible Solutions

• save the salsify feed into a file object to allow reloading.
• use file_get_contents and JsonMachine::fromString

The errors might have been caused by a bug in salsify.

Hi Dynamic,

We are reaching out to all administrator users of your organization(s) today to inform you of a potential issue regarding your shareable Salsify digital asset URLs. By receiving this email, the Salsify team has identified that you, or a member of your organization, performed a digital asset refresh between October 14th and November 5th.

Historically, asset refreshes generated a new shareable URL that could be used throughout Salsify and published to external platforms. The previous shareable URLs, prior to a refresh, would remain valid until they were manually invalidated by Salsify. On October 14th, the Salsify team made a change to invalidate these shareable URLs immediately following a refresh. Our team was made aware of an issue on November 4th where Salsify assets that were refreshed resulted in broken images and/or 404s.

If your team utilizes these shareable URLs, either via the action menu or generated by formula variations, and you have not performed a subsequent publish to the affected endpoint, these URLs may result in a 404 or broken image. To resolve this issue, you will need to republish these products/assets to the appropriate destination or generate a new shareable URL.

Moving forward, our team has implemented a thirty day grace period on asset refreshes and are working to improve clarity on the impact that a refresh has on digital assets. If you have any questions, or need any assistance, please reach out the Salsify Support Team at https://support.salsify.com.
