Doesn't zoom in correctly on the US when country is selected

Describe the bug
When you click on the US on the map you are being transferred to Europe. It doesn't focus/zoom in on the US.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to 'settings'
2. Click on 'country'
3. Navigate to the US, click on the country
4. See error which is that you are being transferred back to europe

Expected behavior
When I click on the US, it should focus in on the US, like it does with other countries such as Canada, and not focus back on Europe.

I wonder if this is because part of Alaska extends on the other side of 180 degrees longitude? Effectively the code could be trying to centre on the entire -180/+180 latitude span, and that's centered on the prime meridian, in western Europe...

I suspect the same thing.
I'll see if I can fix the map at some point because there is also a thin line going though all the zones crossing the 180° line. Maybe that will also fix this one.

Otherwise we can probably make an exception for the US zone as a quick and dirty fix.

You can try and fix the map if you want, but the rest of the frontend code has been moved to our internal monorepo after we merged our app and dataportal.

Zooming logic is the same between the two though so you can still use the old frontend that's available in contrib.

Thanks for opening this issue, we are in the process of migrating a few thing away from the contrib repository, the frontend is one of those things so we will close this issue.

Rest assured this is still tracked internally though.
