I restarted my PC today and found the app had reset itself entirely #1242

Description

App version: Taiga v1.4.1
OS: Windows 10
Account type: MyAnimeList

Issue
After using Taiga without issue for over 5 years, I restarted my PC today and found the app had reset itself entirely:

  • I was logged out of MyAnimeList and prompted to log in again.
  • All settings (library folders, torrent filters, custom RSS feeds, etc.) were reset as if I had just reinstalled the app.
  • The history and cache seems to still be there.

However, my %AppData%\Taiga\data folder still contains many files, including what looks like my access token, folder settings, and other data. It doesn't seem like this data was deleted, just ignored by the app.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use Taiga normally with MAL integration
  2. Reboot Windows
  3. Open Taiga
  4. Notice that all settings are gone and the app behaves as freshly installed

Expected behavior
Taiga should retain all settings and remain logged in after a reboot, unless data was manually cleared or corrupted.

Additional info

  • No Windows updates or disk cleanup actions were performed before reboot.
  • The %AppData%\Taiga\data folder seems intact, at least from what I understand (I can send you a zip of the folder if it can help)
  • This happened spontaneously without user intervention.

Could this be a profile corruption issue, or is there a known fallback behavior that would trigger a reset like this?

Please let me know if there are any logs I should share or files to check.
