Monokai Light for Printing at Home?

The dark version is beautiful, but the average printer won't print a solid black / grey page evenly.

I see that this is indd, and I don't want to pick up a $300 Adobe subscription just to make a change, so I'm thinking around how to do this...

I'm thinking maybe I can make a two column list and commission someone on Fiverr to swap out the colors.

Have any ideas on where to find a quick list of the colors without having to dig through XML or convert from custom floating point formats to RGB?

Monokai Classic

Since the original site has been replaced with the commercially licensed Monokai Pro, it's actually difficult to find the old original Monokai colors used in the poster. I think these are the ones, maybe.

Slack does inline color previews... so that was easy. Here's the side-by-side.

Note: the names on the left hand side (ex: "lightYellow") do not actually correspond to the color. It's just programmer lingo for old 1980s computer terminals.

Sadly, I don't have an indd licence anymore. Though I'd guess it should be fairly feasible to redo the whole thing either in a more common wysiwig tool, or HTML.

Or a Python script :D

@ewjoachim I dunno. I think you had a lot of really nice styling that is not easy to replicate in other tools.

Maybe there's some way to do kerning and line height in CSS, but I think it'd be rather difficult - or at least tedius - to reproduce some of the font-work and positioning you've done.

That said, I got a bite on Fiverr. I'll PR with the light version if all goes well.

In summary:
The background will be made white, the white text will be made the specific dark grey shown, and the other colors will be darkened as shown. The exact color values to be used are given.

Deliverable

Please provide the result as

• Indd
• PDF
• PNG
• SVG (with fonts as fonts)
• SVG (with fonts vectorized as shapes)

(I would also appreciate it if you would export the original as those two SVG options)

I believe the fonts are embedded, but if they are missing, please let me know.
