Feature Request: Pause & Resume Video Stream + Photo-Only Capture + Customizable System Audio Cues

Problem

Today, starting a video stream is tightly coupled with system behaviors that negatively impact user experience and developer flexibility.

1. No pause / resume for video streaming
   The only way to temporarily stop capture is to fully stop and restart the stream. This causes:

   • Repeated system audio cues (e.g. “Experience started, Experience ended”)
   • Disrupted long-running sessions
   • Unnecessary friction for iterative or ambient workflows

   A pause → resume mechanism would allow developers to stop video frames without tearing down the session or re-triggering system cues.

2. Photo capture requires starting a video stream
   Many use cases may only need periodic still image capture (context snapshots, telemetry, privacy-sensitive moments), but currently require starting a full video stream. This feels heavy and introduces unwanted side effects for a lightweight action.

   A photo-only capture mode (without video streaming) would significantly improve UX and efficiency.

3. Hard-coded system audio cues
   Every stream start triggers fixed system audio (e.g. “Experience started”). In frequent or long sessions, this becomes disruptive:

   • Breaks focus and immersion
   • Cannot be aligned with product tone or branding
   • Becomes especially problematic when streams must be restarted

4. No control over system audio volume or branding
   System sounds (experience start, audio capture, etc.) are currently:

   • Not replaceable
   • Not independently volume-controlled
   • Not suppressible in subtle or focus-first experiences

Requested Capabilities

• Pause / resume video streaming without restarting the session
• Photo-only capture mode that does not require starting a video stream
• Customizable system audio cues, including:
  • Ability to replace default sounds
  • Ability to control or mute cue volume
  • Optional suppression of repeated start messages on resume

Why This Matters

These changes would enable:

• Long-running, ambient experiences
• Focus-first and distraction-sensitive workflows
• Privacy-aware capture patterns
• Better branding and UX consistency
