Looks like egl problems. Have you installed up-to-date flatpak drivers for your graphics card? (running flatpak upgrade usually pulls them in, they need to match the ones on your system).

If this still does not work, please provide details on your graphics hardware, drivers, and operating system. If you cannot get it working, try to disable hardware acceleration (follow https://docs.ankiweb.net/platform/linux/display-issues.html). The path will be ~/.var/app/net.ankiweb.Anki/data/Anki2 instead of your regular ~/.local/share

Yes @rayes0, if add ~/.var/app/net.ankiweb.Anki/data/Anki2 with software then the app no longer crashes.

also experiencing this issue, I'm running AMD graphics and on kernel version 6.12.38+deb13-amd64. Switching to software rendering fixes the issue for me as well.
