permission failure on Linux / BSD installs

I'm using fyne on Debian 11 Bullseye.
when I follow the instructions at https://apps.fyne.io/apps/me.ankushjadhav.fynesweeper.html
I get the error:
failed to copy application binary file: open /usr/local/bin/

Does this mean I need to use sudo?
I would prefer to install it to ~/.local/bin instead. How can I do thar?

actually, I tried it wirh sudo, and that doesn't work either; it is unable to locate the command fyne - i see, it's insalled in ~/go/bin

I remember having the same issue with node.js, At that time, the resolution became using nvm, and I stopped using node for end user apps due to the complications for support.

I’m told that this is likely due to developers using homebrew , those folders don’t exist on Mac until created by homebrew. While this may be ok on OSX, on unix and linux, it is not – that folder is already used for installing ports, as in ‘sudo make install’, and is owned by root.

I think this breaks your cross-platform goals.

The folder is platform specific, on macOS we use /Applications.
We need to improve this to call out to sudo or su on Linux computers I think. macOS and Windows privilege escalation is handled already.

Thanks. I can build manually. Other than this glitch, fyne does work fine on my arm Chromebook.
