Does Cherrytree have a character count feature

As the title.

I sometimes use CT to store some text that must not exceed a given length.
So I would find it helpful to have a feature that counts the characters of a given text.
Maybe for some selected bits of text. Output of that information could be via statusbar or hovertext hint.

Today I asked in Issues for closer links between CherryTree node and Sublime Text. If you view *.ctd in Sublime Text as XML you can copy blocks of text and read word count.
