integrating tests vs merging tests

Do we need to run the tests twice? If the integration tests run successfully, there is no need to rerun them upon merging. This is mainly for notebook tests because they take a lot of time.

The larger the package grows and the more notebooks and examples we might generate in the future, the harder it will be to keep a good overview of what is called in the notebooks. Therefore, I think it is good practice to always run the integration tests before merging.

Of course, if you only worked on docstrings or something alike, this is not necessary...
