I want to minimise dependencies in my project by utilising framework dependencies wherever possible

What solution would you like?

I want Microsoft.bcl.* & system.* to no longer be an explicit dependency on net 6+

Thanks for the request. Yes, I think we can specifically target .NET 8 and not include the extra dependencies in that case. We'll get around to this soon.
