In that sense, nutype works well for pure, reproducible invariants (format, range, etc.), but it shouldn’t be used for validations that depend on external state (DB, time, uniqueness), since that would break determinism.

One should also pay extra attention around new_unchecked and derive_unchecked. As the name implies it may allow to instantiate a nutype type bypassing the constraints
