Major (and major.minor) container tag request

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Not a problem per se, but a quality of life improvement.

Automatically pulling the latest minor, (or patch) releases would be easier if in addition to major.minor.patch container tags you added major and major.minor tags as well.

With semantic versioning automatically pulling the minor and patch releases should be safe. (at least on the stable branch)
