Ghostery blocked by Ultimate. Justified? A beneficent tracker? Whitelist, remove or neither?

Hi, I see from logs that d.ghostery.com gets blocked a lot. I can't remember if privacyguides cautioned against the use of the Ghostery browser extension (essentially a snoopy little proxy). Should I not? Should I whitelist it? Is it correct that the DNS list blocks it for tracking despite its role as an anti-tracking tracker? Is that just a bad concept? Too many questions about one small thing, sorry.
