It would be awesome if we could add some gyro filters to remove the fan noise and anything else causing gyro drift for the head tracker on the goggles. I have 1st get but probably anything with a gyro would benefit.

I have no idea where to start or how to do this but it was suggested in discord when discussing gyro drift issues.

Also having the fans turn all the way off for gyro calibration might help too with drive.

My goggles drift really bad in one axis only that I think is caused by the fans.

It is necessary to calibrate the head tracking gyro once for each day that you fly. Set the goggle level on a table and press the calibrate button. Doing this should make the gyro not drift too much for about 1 day

I recalibrate mine with the fans set as low as possible sitting on a table no one is using. Then leaving it on the same table Set Center it and the pan axis will drift 15% with in 1-2min. All axis drift in time frames shorter than one flight but pan is the worst.

I have to re-center multiple times, about every 2 min depending on the flying and how sensitive it make me to pointing when in flight.

Turning the fans up makes this much worse and shows drift on other axis in much shorter time spans.

It seems like there should be a relatively good idea of what frequency comes from the fans since someone knows what the fans are and what RPM to expect from them. Filtering that out just makes sense to me.

I still think this would be a nice enhancement that would make the gyro work a lot better. Having to recalibrate it outside of firmware updates seems odd but I guess it possible my goggles are just faulty? Its a relatively new board as it had to be replaced for other reasons. Perhaps I didn't get it seated just right or perhaps I can add some foam inside to dampen them more.

Hey I'm currently experiencing the exact symptoms on my goggles as you are describing with the same setup for calibrating and centering. Did you manage to find a fix or workaround yet?

I did not. Sometimes I can get a calibration that last a little longer if I am really careful about making the goggles level before calibrating. If I am lucky and get a really level cal to goggles will sometimes go 30 min before they have drifted noticeably. I have no calibration that last all day most of the time I'm drifting pretty bad after 10-20 min though. Usually im resetting zero about ever min because they drift so bad.
