Where to use the command `leap.code-workspace`?

I've run the command (on a mac) from terminal in the devcamp root folder to no avail, is that the right place? Perhaps I'm missing something?

Buuuutt, this trick doesnt work for me still:

"start Holochain shell in the root of this repository and inside it run code .. This will run Visual Studio inside the Holochain shell and it will be loading Rust tools provided by it."

code . gets me:

@Joshfairhead that is weird. Looks like your holochain shell doesn't include a path to your code command into it's PATH environment variable.
On my Ubuntu, there's a shell file ~/.nix-profile/etc/profile.d/nix.sh that sets up various paths and variables for nix-shell when starting. And inside this file there's this line that includes all my usual PATH configuration into the nix-shell and makes code available:

export PATH="$NIX_LINK/bin:$PATH"

I don't know much about MacOS but I've thought that PATH part worked the same among *nix systems.

Things that I want to clarify here:

1. where does your code command come from? run which code outside of holochain shell and post the result
2. where is this directory in your environment configuration? run env | grep <your directory from p1 excluding code part> and post the result. For example, if your code is located at /usr/bin/code, you'll be running env | grep "/usr/bin"

In the meantime, you can run VSC outside of the holochain shell and open the workspace file via File > Open workspace :)
