04: volumes mounted by default?

The text in https://hsf-training.github.io/hsf-training-docker/04-file-io/index.html says

In latest versions of Podman and Docker your home directory is shared by default

Is this really the case? Apptainer does it but I do not think it happens with Docker/Podman
