Black screen after update on RPi5

I am running version 0.8.1 on Arch Linux Arm and only get the splash on a otherwise black desktop. I have updated my config from 0.7.6 (wich worked) and even used IPC but have no success.

I fear the problem might be Broadcoms atrocious implementation of OpenGL as I also can not use some opacity options of hyprland without getting a black screen/box.

Also the splash became noticeably bigger wich is distracting.

Disabling splash does not fix anything.

+1 but for me this occured after updating to Hyprland v0.53

That might not be the same. I don't get any error, it just does nothing. Using a new build of the 0.7.6 codebase works for me.

I'm getting the same error.

The config format has changed with the rewrite, define a wallpaper for the monitor output or a fallback section to display on all unset outputs, like documented here: Hyprpaper Configuration

I did upgrade my config and even used IPC but still had no success on actually displaying the image.

@QBos07 did you restart hyprpaper after changing the config to a format like this? (taken from Hyprpaper Configuration as shared by @aperum)

wallpaper {
    monitor = 
    path = ~/path/to/your/image.png
    fit_mode = cover
}

Either reboot the machine, or run hyprpaper in the terminal

I did change the config muiltiple times and restarted multiple times. I don't get any error on the terminal, just no picture.

This was it for me. Didn't know they updated the Hyprpaper conf as well, lol. Thanks!
