A/B Testing Deployment

Overview

A/B Testing Deployment is a deployment strategy where traffic is routed to different application versions based on user segments or specific criteria, allowing parallel testing of features. This enables comparison between old and new versions in production with full control over exposure. Ideal for validating UX, performance, or business metrics without full rollout.

Unlike canary which is gradual by percentage, A/B testing is based on user attributes.

  • Segment-Based Routing: Route based on user ID, location, device, etc.
  • Parallel Versions: Run multiple versions simultaneously.
  • Metrics Comparison: Compare KPIs between groups.
  • Controlled Exposure: Limit users per variant.
