Setting commands to values for plotting

Hi, so for Homework 2. I have completed Plot 1 successfully. Now I was trying to set my command for plot 1 to a value of "p1" so that I just have to run "p1" in order to get my plot shown.
However, this isn't working. It says that the value is set, but then when I run "p1", I get an error (see attached screenshot). Am I just not getting the gist of it and doing it wrong?

What happens when you just rerun the code? Also it looks like this can happen when you open a new device using dev.new() . Take a look at what these people found worked http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20155581/persistent-invalid-graphics-state-error-when-using-ggplot2

dev.off() might be the cure.
