Java 17 needed (or at least not working with adoptium 25)

The installer does not seem to run at all if you have higher versions of Java installed (like if you're coding with JDK 25). I had to force run it on jdk 17 to make it install. No error message either so figuring this was very hard.

Same here - no errors, but didn't show up. Editing my instance to run with Java 17 worked.

You don't wanna be using 25 anywayz because Generational ZGC is forced and it's not good for performance. Use Adoptium 21 (or you may want to consider GraalVM because it's said to be a bit slower than Adoptium at first but then gain performance as you progress into your resetting session)
