[FEATURE] Piler-UI CDN Dependencies: Offline Usage Issues and Internal Hosting Solution

I’m testing piler-ee (Docker) and I’m quite stuck with piler-ui, which loads JavaScript scripts from cdn.jsdelivr.net.

In the context of email archiving in a back-office environment, clients don’t necessarily have internet access for security reasons. This is problematic for piler-ui because the web interface doesn’t work.

Is it possible to host the scripts internally in order to make the web interface accessible in all situations?

Yes, you can download those scripts and css, and write the updated $config['JS_CODE'] and $config['CSS_CODE'] values to config-site.php.

However, I think it would be very convenient (especially for large companies) not to have to modify the Docker image itself. That would help avoid mistakes and potential issues during upgrades, for example.
Of course it's possible, for example by using a volume, but it's not very convenient.

It would also avoid running into this issue during an initial installation when someone is simply evaluating or testing the software, as was the case for me.

Well, I see no issue here. If you have a unique environment, then you need to adjust the deployment to match it. Using the CDN should be reasonable for most installations.

Just to clarify, in my current Docker setup for piler-ui 2.1.3 EE, the UI templates and static assets are embedded in the compiled Go binary, so there are no accessible files to modify at runtime in the container filesystem.

As far as I understand, modifying this part of the UI would require access to the original source code (2.1.3 ?) or a rebuildable version of this component.

Well, there's a private issue tracker for commercial users. For now leave it here. So yeah, you don't have access to the source code for obvious reasons. Piler allows you to override the CSS stuff only.
