UI is unresponsive when fetching (meta)data from large Kafka cluster #1776

Describe the bug (actual behavior)
We have quite a large Kafka cluster (almost 9k topics, 39k partitions, 2.2k CGs) and basically, whenever Kafbat is updating data about partitions/topics/etc. the entire UI is unresponsive (just like one would wait for a website to load). I played a little bit with settings (that are not documented, but Claude found them in the source code) and
managed to lower fetch time to 50s from 90s with the default settings (so basically now we have 10 minutes of super fast responsiveness and 1 minute of loading).
This can be observed really well by looking at container's network traffic - when there is a peak, Kafbat UI basically doesn't work at all

UI should be responsive all the time

Using helm chart 1.6.2, app version v1.4.2 (latest at the moment of writing). Pod has tons of free resources - I did set 2000m request for CPU and 8Gi for memory (and also set via env xmx/xms to 6Gi). The configmap looks like this (redacted addresses):
