As a follow-up to our earlier announcement about separating KFP components from the main repository, we want to share the next step in that transition: the @components/ directory in kubeflow/pipelines will be removed on May 11, 2026.

If you are still actively maintaining a component under @components/, please move it to the new dedicated repository before that date:

https://github.com/kubeflow/pipelines-components

This transition is intended to make ownership and maintenance clearer, reduce noise in the main KFP repository, and give community-maintained components a more appropriate long-term home.

Important exception: Google-maintained components are not part of this May 11 removal. They will migrate on a different timeline, and we will share more details separately.

If you maintain a component and have questions, please comment in this thread or open an issue in the new components repository.
