Bug Description

Input "Store Messages" with advanced = "true" is not displayed in "inspector panel". It cannot be modified.

Workaround : edit python code and set advanced = "false"

Thanks for the report, @kubik39 — confirmed as a bug (UX regression).

Root cause

The should_store_message field ("Store Messages") is defined as advanced=True in both ChatInput and ChatOutput. Advanced fields are normally surfaced in the Inspection Panel rather than on the node body. However, this specific field is explicitly excluded from the panel by an allow-list in the frontend:

This HIDDEN_FIELDS list was introduced in #12473 as a deliberate UX decision to declutter the panel. The side effect is the bug you hit: the field is both advanced (hidden from the node body) and listed in HIDDEN_FIELDS (hidden from the Inspection Panel), so it no longer shows in the panel.

Hiding it from the panel by default was intentional; making it harder to reach was not. That makes this a regression rather than expected behavior.

Workaround (until fixed)

1. Disable the Inspection Panel from the nav bar (the Show Inspect Panel button at the top).

2. With the panel turned off, the component falls back to the classic Controls page, where "Store Messages" is still editable. (Screenshot to follow.)

3. If you want the field to show directly on the component node, click the eye icon in the show column to toggle its visibility on the canvas.

Update: we've created an internal ticket for the engineering team to evaluate and fix this. During the investigation we also found other advanced fields with the same behavior, and they're included in the ticket. We'll keep this issue posted on the progress.
