GSoC 2026 interested in the New Module Management UI project

Hello Learning Unlimited team,

I’m interested in the New Module Management UI project.

I have experience with Python basics, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and MERN stack, and I’m currently aiming for a full-stack developer role, so this project especially interests me because it combines admin UI/UX work with backend logic and scheduling features.

After reading the project description, I understand that the goal is to create a clearer interface for administrators to:

• view student and teacher modules separately
• enable/disable modules more easily
• manage opening/closing times for modules

Before I start exploring the codebase more deeply, I wanted to ask a few project-specific questions:

1. Is there already an existing data model for module start/expire dates, or would part of the project involve extending the current model structure?
2. For issue New module management UI #3854, is the main priority currently the UX/interface redesign, the backend scheduling logic, or both together?
3. Would it be useful for a new contributor to start by reviewing the current module management flow and proposing a UI mockup / implementation plan before writing code?
4. Are there any parts of the current admin/module code that you recommend studying first for this project?

I’d be happy to first review the relevant code paths and start with a smaller contribution if that would be helpful.
