Folder Structures as Local Source #355

Adding +1 to this - trying to make my own database of knowledge, but the last of folder organization makes this not a tool I am able to use due to the number of files. Also, the limitation of 50 uploads per batch is not ideal for this, being able instead to point it to a folder would be much better. |

Consolidating this into #291, which is now the canonical Discussion for external or mounted sources, folder synchronization, and large source collections. The important details from this thread have been copied there: local directories and Obsidian vaults, nested hierarchy, thousands of Markdown files, and the limitation of uploading only small batches. The related technical proposal #988 explores the stable source identity and upsert behavior needed by a reliable folder watcher. Closing this as a duplicate so future input and decisions stay together in #291. Thank you @tonyfarson and @NintendoFan37 for making the workflow and scale constraints concrete. |

What a great project! Thank you!
Perhaps I'm missing it. If so, I'm all ears! I have several Obsidian Vaults with loads of sub directories and thousands of .md files that I'd like to use as sources for various notebooks. It would be an outstanding feature to be able to use a directory as a source.
Thanks again!
