[Silica] High Latitude Publication Tasks

Summary

JC is confident the high latitude paper is really close to getting published! Opening this issue now so that I can start to scope out the tasks that fall under my responsibilities that relate to the publication process

Starting Tasks

• Review manuscript (Methods / Results) when prompted by JC
• Discuss whether _deprecated/ and Jo_explore/ folders should be deleted or retained (in GH)
• Create Release and depoy via Zenodo to get DOI
  • Create "NEWS.md" and add Release notes to it
  • Add title / abstract to README
  • Add cute badges for code / data DOIs to README
• Send citation for code to JC
• Wait for peer review
  • Make relevant code/data edits indicated by reviewers
• After acceptance, change repo link to published paper link

Help with Supplemental Figure(s)

JC asked me to make some other supplemental figures. See below:

• Change monthly boxplot to violins
  • Also add points (jittered) for observations
  • Do same for all three chemicals' monthly boxplots
• Make 'mega bookmark' across months
  • Concentration for Si/N/P
  • Use style conventions from other bookmarks
• Stacked barplot of DSi concentration
  • X-axis = month
  • Y axis = proportion of streams
  • Colors = Sizer slope (pos / neg / NS / NA)
  • Facet by LTER

New Figs Sent

Pinged JC with an update + the graph files, now just need to wait for any possible further feedback.

Zenodo DOI Achieved!

Got the go-ahead from JC so I tidied up the repo and got a Zenodo DOI for v1.0. See here. Sent the citation info to JC so we'll see what she says but now I think I'm just waiting for this paper to be submitted / accepted to add the link to the paper to the README and repo 'About' sidebar.
