Is it possible to completely disable federation in Misskey?

Hi Misskey team,

I'm considering using Misskey in a closed environment where federation with other Fediverse instances is neither needed nor desired.

I've reviewed the documentation and parts of the source code, but couldn't find a clear way to fully disable federation (ActivityPub).

My questions are:

Is there any official or recommended way to disable federation?

Is it possible to achieve this through configuration only, without modifying the source code?

If not, which parts of the codebase would need to be altered to fully isolate the instance without breaking internal features?

The goal is to have a self-contained private instance, with active users but no external communication.

Is there any official or recommended way to disable federation?

Yes. Recent misskey release has option to disable federation.

You can disable federation in general settings of the server in control panel. (your-server.address/admin/settings)

You can choose from:

• federate with any servers user / other server wants (except admin specifically blocked)
• federate with limited servers
• no federation
