Sungrow recommends updating...
Basically: never touch a running system. 😉 I'd primarily apply this mantra to the inverter itself. Battery and WiNet-S are less critical, although supposedly there can be issues when your inverter and battery/WiNet-S are too many versions apart. I haven't experienced any, though. |

Thanks for you reply, but I can remember that Sungrow themselves introduced in 2024 an auto firmware update as part of a new release of their App/WebApp, which is by default turned on. |

Yes, ironic, isn't it? 😅 |

Agree, somehow strange. |

I have interpreted the recommendation to update "When you're having problems" in a wide sense. There's always "problems" to a greater or lesser extent, so I have kept the system up to date. For example, I had an issue with the inverter occasionally not producing despite sunlight. Restarts of the system resolved the issue temporarily. When available I updated the firmware and the issue was gone. However, as a consequence of the update the inverter did not go into standby mode at night. A new update resolved that issue. It's a gamble and a vicious circle. I blame Sungrow, but i guess I will be the one suffering the consequences if the system explodes after an update... |

I am using this integration for a while now and it is running well.
And to keep it running well i wonder if it is recommend to regularly update the invert and battery firmware to stay up to date.
Who you are handling this, guys?
