guidelines: Non-XML code examples not currently possible #1752

Description

@DILewis

I'm working on a section for chapter 14 of the guidelines (Integrating MEI with other Standards and Formats). The text would benefit from code examples (for the Linked Data section, this might be ttl or JSON), but currently, the guidelines only support the <egXML> element (not <eg>). This would be a helpful addition.

I think that 'all' that is needed in rendering terms is monospaced font and with whitespace preserved (e.g. <pre><code>...</code></pre>), but this will still involve including external files, ideally. Additionally, @kepper has pointed out that there would need to be some thought about page breaks for the PDF version.

I imagine this would also be useful to have for the IIIF section, among others.
