In #4462 we adjusted some parameters DNS side to limit how long connections stay alive. Flub made a good comment about managing it more closely to preserve battery in eg mobile cases.
We should probably review the entire flow and make this tune-able. Once we resolve more issues on the DNS side regarding connection management we should be able to up the keepalive interval to 5-10min or more.
