Google Play requires 16 KB page size to release updates starting 2025-11-01

I received this eMail from Google Play:

Your app is affected by Google Play's 16 KB page size requirements

To ensure your app works correctly on the latest versions of Android, Google Play requires all apps targeting Android 15+ to support 16 KB memory page sizes.From Nov 1, 2025, if your app updates do not support 16 KB memory page sizes, you won't be able to release these updates.

How can we make the current version of Obelisk generate a conforming build?

https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/page-sizes#compile-16-kb-alignment requires either recent NDK or recent LLVM ld.
As far as I can tell, both require more recent versions of llvm than what's supplied by the currently pinned nixpkgs, and I believe adding an llvm is a lot of work.

The good news is we've been preparing a switch to newer nixpkgs for a while (#1126) and it comes with AGP/NDK versions where 16KB page sizes are the default. See reflex-frp/reflex-platform#850 for Android-specific progress

Given the Nov 1 cutoff, depending on the size of your codebase it might be worth starting now on making it forward-compatible with 9.12 to switch as soon as obelisk is ready
