Sorry, I'm not familiar with these applications. What you request is an endpoint that allows an app to send a location update, and in turn incrementally builds a trail? |

Yes, that's precisely it. The idea would be to be able to share the progress of a bike trip, for example. Here is the documentation for the HTTP endpoint with OwnTracks. |

This would be an incredible feature and would likely add the ability to follow already created trails as well. When a user is ready to start their trek they could hit start and it would essentially direct them which way to go on the trail |

Also don't forget Traccar ;) But would be a awesome feature tho. |

This would be neat! A lot of the "hiking apps" have this as a feature where you can send a live share link to friends/family. Wonder if that would be a similar use case for this FR. |

Live tracking would be a neat feature. It would be useful to maybe collect users' app preferences before implementing 'something'. |

Maybe this could be achieved using a native wanderer app, it would be much more user-friendly. @Flomp Have you started on that yet? Im available to help! |

Many thanks for all your great work on wanderer @Flomp. An additional feature that would surely be useful to many people would be to be able to record a live track with FOSS applications like OwnTracks, Compass or Overland.
This would require adding an endpoint to the API and adding a toggle (like the “public” one) with the URL when creating a trail.
