I’m not sure about your intentions, but compared to the previous version, I feel there may be a few areas that could be improved.

1. Weak visual hierarchy
2. Non prominent ctas
3. Overly technical copy of blogging site
4. Generic unmemorable brand identity
5. Unclear navigation uneven spacing & layout
6. Low emotional engagement & storytelling of product

I would love to know about your intention.

It’s been a long way. Not just coding, but also understanding who we speak to: devs and decision makers with a technical background. The new landing page ist just one of many changes we are doing towards those.

I agree, we have less elements that stand out but that’s not what we are looking for. We kept for the same pages and have updated their copy.

While for the unclear navigation and uneven layout, that should be clearly fixed. If you provide some more examples, that would help. We are not happy about the spacing neither. We are aware of that.

Please elaborate the storytelling part. We want to get better at it. We want to tell a story with openstatus.

1. The new design feels functional, but the storytelling arc is missing — it explains features, not the journey or transformation for the user.

2. The visual hierarchy is very flat, making it hard to immediately spot the most important information or primary actions.

3. The CTAs are integrated into the design; a greater contrast between the primary and secondary CTAs would better direct user action.

4. For developers or teams already looking for a developer-centric monitoring/status tool, OpenStatus works well. It is accurate, technical, and honest about its characteristics.

5. The current design may seem a little "dry," boring, or under-optimized to non-technical stakeholders who care about trust, dependability, and brand perception, or to those who anticipate a more "product-style marketing page" (a narrative, emotional hooks, standout design, branding).

Let’s start with the following: your answers give me AI vibes. Please provide concrete examples in your reflection. What’s known to you isn’t for others. Also, to get into a conversation, it would have been helpful to answer the question asked and mention the blog.

Yes, we are splitting status pages and monitoring and don’t to some sort of transformation (1). Would be interesting to see how to improve here.

We don’t put a lot of CTAs (3) because we believe that users who know what they want will find it. The dashboard button on the header nav is visually different. Maybe completely inverting the color could help to even more identify it as primary action.

Regarding the visual hierarchy (2), I mean we clearly are text based so h1/h2/h3 are your visual hierarchy here - also working with making key elements bold to increase the importance. What is missing concretely?

I would disagree here: boring design doesn’t mean no brand perception (5). I agree, we are not differentiating ourselves with others in the market by having some fancy animations, components or other stuff on our page. But we are differentiating by the typography and the boring design. We could think of adding a typography switcher to switch to sans-serif for product people. Also please explain what “product-style marketing pages” are?

Hi @mxkaske, I just want to say that the previous UI was great. I was inspired to build my portfolio and some other pages ex :from it.

I find the current UI/UX pretty confusing—just my personal opinion. The previous one felt cleaner. The current design seems a bit cluttered, and I have a strong urge to redesign it. That's all.
