Overview
Researchers preparing manuscripts on substrate- and reaction-specificities of enzymes may want to add this information to the MITE database to obtain a MITE accession ID to reference in their publication. MITE accession IDs (e.g. MITE0000001) are persistent identifiers that can be used to unambiguously identify tailoring enzymes and making them easily searchable. However, MITE's open source development does not allow for embargoed entries, and adding the information into MITE before would potentially compromise the manuscript and invite scooping.
Solution
To address this issue, we offer the option to reserve MITE accession IDs. These reserved IDs will be held back when coining MITE accessions IDs, allowing authors to refer to such reserved IDs in their manuscripts, without compromising their results.
All currently reserved IDs can be found HERE.
